Burnham on Sea U3A

Embroidery

Embroidery 1

We are a group of 23 members who help each other with all aspects of embroidery. We have been in action for over 10 years. The main activity is cross stitch, and some beautiful pictures have been produced. However, we also do free embroidery. Many members of the group are very advanced in these crafts, and are always willing to help others

We have trips to most of the Embroidery and Craft Fairs where we all find things that we cannot live without!

At Christmas, two of our members cook a Four Course Meal for those of us able to come and this is always well attended as you can imagine. We also have a good chat, a few laughs with a cup of tea and biscuits while sewing. We might also indulge in a cake if it is someone’s birthday!

Group leader is Joy Shuttlewood.

UPDATE:

Twelve members meet regularly above Material Needs on alternate Thursdays. New members are welcome. All types of stitchery are practised, and all members help each other. Patterns and techniques are shared. And they put the world to rights whilst enjoying a cup of tea.

This group possesses a wide range of sowing, embroidery, cross stitch and canvas skills.

It aims to help one another over problems within their current project.

New members are sought for this group.

Group leader: Heather Major.

Meetings: 10.30am every other Thursday at "Material Needs" in the High Sreet, Burnham.
