Burnham on Sea U3A

Fast-fingered members of Burnham U3A’s patchwork group have handed over a pair of enormous handmade quilts to a children’s charity. The group gave the unique stitch works to Louise Turner, who represented the Babe Appeal for the Children’s Hospice South West.

In total they both took an impressive nine months to finish and were admired by all those who attended the handover at the fundraising coffee morning.

Pictured with the colourful quilts are Gwynth Marshal, Margaret Budden, Joy Shuttlewood, Deputy Mayor Dave Perry, Louise Turner, Aileen Bowen, Eileen Evans, Mary Tratt, and Daphne Elsa.
